The RenewalWorks Spiritual Life Inventory Survey is live!
Check your email for the link, or contact the church office if you have not received an email. You are encouraged to take it on your computer, and the church office will make the workroom available to anyone who may want to come take the survey onsite. It will be available during Church office hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 2:00 pm, as well as after each service on Sundays. The survey should take about 20-30 minutes. Our goal is to have at least 50 parishioners take the survey, and we are about halfway there. This information will be valuable to us as we look forward to the future of St. Christopher's. If you prefer a paper survey, pick up a survey in the back of the church by the organ and return it to the office when complete.
Give Aloha continues through the month of September. You can go to any Foodland or Sack n Save store on the island and make a contribution to St. Christopher's of up to $249 per individual. Foodland and Western Union match the funds, depending on our percentage giving, stretching your offerings even more! Drop your receipt in the offering plate to have it counted towards your pledge.
SERVING OUR NEIGHBORS
If you know of anyone who would like a ride to church, occasional help with meals, or help shopping (a ride to the store or a list to be filled) please notify any vestry members on the Care of Parish Committee: Paula Sterling (254-3114), Joanna Witt (258-5945), Diana Garcia (703-489-7938), Karen Gifford (262-0352).
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
Bring your furry, feathery, and friendly family members for a special blessing on Sunday October 6. Both services will be Morning Prayer. Also welcomed are stuffed animals and pictures of pets. (Please use pet carriers, cages, etc., as appropriate)
M. Giovan says that all pets go to heaven. When we have our pet blessing, we would like to give thanks for the lives of pets who have passed away this year. If you would like your pet remembered in that way, please add its name to the list on the table by the organ or send its name in an email to Angie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Would you like to learn how to save someone’s life? One Sunday in November, we will invite Ms. Rae Costa from the Diocesan Support Center to teach a CPR/First Aid/AED class at our church after services. Classes will be offered at 8:15 and at 10:30. The cost is $40 per person. There is an online portion of the course that must be completed prior to attending the live class. Please send an email to Carly if you are interested in attending, and we will work with Ms. Costa to set a date. Mahalo!
TUESDAY BIBLE STUDY
All are welcome to join us in Mo. Giovan's office at 10am. We are reading "Searching for Sunday" by Rachel Held Evans. Pick up your copy of the book in the office.
